General conditions of Hiring

The rental is arranged under normal conditions and is governed by French law.

The tenant undertakes to accept the following terms and conditions:

25% of the total rental due is payable on booking

- cancellation by the tenant:
If more than one month before the agreed date of commencement, the tenant loses the down payment of 25% paid with the booking.
If less than one month before the effective date of the lease the tenant is liable for the full amount due for the rental period.

- cancellation by the landlord:
If cancelled less than 7 days prior to the agreed date of commencement the landlord will pay twice the full amount due for the rental period.

Cancellation must be notified in writing and by telephone.

If the tenant having paid only the 25% deposit does not arrive on the agreed date, the landlord retains the right to find an alternative tenant once 4 days have passed.

Within 2 hours of arrival the tenant is obliged to pay the remaining 75% of the total rental charge. Should these monies not be forthcoming the landlord retains the immediate right to find alternative tenants for the duration or part thereof of the remaining rental period.

The tenant should take due care and attention with all items within the property.

Any faults discovered must be reported to the owner within 24 hours of arrival.

The tenant agrees to occupy the property and to treat all items with due care and attention. All the installations are in a fully functioning state and any complaint with regard to them that is notified more than 24 hours after occupation may not be accepted.

Any repairs made necessary by the negligence or bad maintenance during occupancy will be the responsibility of the tenant.

The buildings are rented fully furnished with kitchen equipment, crockery, glasses, cloths, covers and pillows and bath towels.

If it is necessary, the owner has the right to claim from the tenant upon departure, the price of cleaning the rented buildings (fixed payment of 60 €), and the total cost of replacement of the objects, furniture or materials broken, cracked, or deteriorated more than would be expected during the rental period.

The landlord agrees to insure the property against the tenant's risks (fire, damage of water). The effect of the insurance, in the event of disaster, will give place to damages.

The landlord commits to insure the house against the tenant's risks on behalf of the tenant for any disaster which has occurred in the house, grounds or swimming pool and has been notified to the landlord within 24 hours of arrival.

The client is strongly recommended to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover) and to have full cover for the party’s personal belongings, public liability etc since these are not covered by the owner’s insurance.
